The new ASME B18.24 Part Identifying Number (PIN) Code System Standard for B18 Fasteners provides users with the ability to specify and identify all ASME B18 fastener products using a single 18-digit PIN code system. It is intended to provide all users with the capability to identify externally threaded, internally threaded, and non-threaded fastener products. The B18 PIN is a self-contained code, with distinct identification linkage to individual ASME B18 fastener product standards. The PIN code concept provides for direct traceablity back to the applicable B18 standard.
